TCA Aircraft Testing Department. Small single & twin prop aircraft test report. Date of Report: April 20, 1998 Tested by: Philip M. Wafer ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SECTION A: (Original FSFS aircraft details.) a) Aircraft name: TDM Dove 8 b) Aircraft registration: PJ-ABC b) Aircraft filename: TDMDOVE8.ZIP ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SECTION B: (FS98 only aircraft file details.) a) Aircraft Filename: b) Aircraft name: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SECTION C: (Criteria Tested) 1) Endurance (range) NM: 450NM based on usage for Line 4010 2) Take-off distance(metres): 800m Landing distance(metres): 200m 3) Rotation speed (Vr) (KIAS): a)"Educated" guess: 90 KIAS b) Calculated: 95 KIAS 4) Climb: Best climb speed (KIAS/fpm): 140 KIAS/1200 fpm to 5000 feet 5) Overspeed clacker(at cruise altitude) Mach number or KIAS: N/A 6) Behavior under AP: (OK/Not OK) a) Speed AP. N/A b) Altitude AP. OK c) Heading AP. OK d) NAV1 AP. OK e) Back course AP. OK f) Approach AP. OK g) Autoland. N/A 7) Speed @ 80% power at cruise altitudes (Mach number or KIAS): 180 KIAS 8) Power setting, economic cruise speed: "20" on manifold presure gauge. 9) Stall speed (KIAS). a) 100% fuel: 84/73 KIAS b) 30% fuel: 77/69 KIAS 10) Approach speed at 30% fuel (KIAS): 100 KIAS 11) Turns AP ON - (OK/Not OK): a) Level turns. OK b) Climbing turns. OK c) Descending turns. OK 12) Turns AP OFF - (OK/Not OK): a) Level turns. OK b) Climbing turns. OK c) Descending turns. OK 13) Landing speed (KIAS): a) 30% fuel: 100 KIAS b) 15% fuel: 100 KIAS 14) Take-off with some engines out of service: OK ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SECTION D: NOTES/COMMENTS: 1) 800m seems a long take-off run. Acceleration not good?? 2) The aircraft "porpoises" sometimes on altitude hold. 3) If an engine fails at rotation speed (Vr) then climb ability is reduced to about 100 - 200 fpm. 4) The range of this aircraft appears to be about half of that specified in the accompanying docs when converted to FS98.
